Living in Jihlava

It is always useful to get some practical information either when you are planning a journey or later when you are about to set out on the road.

    Stomatologist emergency service in Jihlava district is provided by individual dentists. Week days 15:00 - 19:00, weekends and holidays 8:00 - 12:00.

Living expenses

To cover the costs of accommodation, food and transportation, you will need 300 - 400 euros per month, though it depends on your personal choices.

Opening hours

Most shops are open from 8:00 till 17:00 on working days and on Saturday mornings, while supermarkets remain open till 20:00 every day of the week. Banks, libraries, pharmacies are usually closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

What to do at the weekends?

If you go in for sports there are different and fun things to do (swimming, skiing, cycling, indoor and outdoor sports). Information in English here.

The Vysočina Region provides numerous opportunities for hiking. Trails are well marked and hiking (as well as cycling) maps are available in bookshops.

Do not miss the opportunity to participate in sports courses and semester sports organized by the College as some of them take place at the weekends.

You can also spend weekends travelling, starting in the neighbouring towns such as Telč and Jindřichův Hradec, explore Prague, Brno, Český Krumlov and finally, during holidays, you can find time to visit Bratislava (Slovakia), Budapest (Hungary) or Vienna (Austria).

Traditional fairs
